We are not just another hobby shop. This is a business born from passion, from a passion to have fun, from a passion to be creative, from a passion to be able to teach as well.
I have been involved at the FUN and creative end of model sailing boats, small swimming pool power runabouts and wooden sailing dinghies since my teens. Fast forward some decades and one day in 2002 my mother presents me with a balsa/glassfibre model boat she found on the attic during a big clean up it had been there since I went to university (it was my own interpretation of a full sized yacht called Stormvogel, a van der Stadt design famous in the 60's for various racing achievements) . With my son egging me on I tried to turn it into a sailing boat, but it just needed too much done to it. So I decided to start a new sailing boat from scratch. An internet search gave me the plan at an affordable price and some 2 months later St Francis was launched. Well you can guess who had more fun. Dad of course (to be fair our son was but 5 years old at the time). Thus the momentum was started, the passion re-born and Fun on Water our first motto. Wilfried Braunlich
